Not a recent look, but as soon as we'll be getting closer to the spring weather, I will start taking photos again. This look  was taken last year in the late fall and I particularly loved that I was matching with Caroline, wearing both this soft buttery cream color. I love this calm shade of yellow and I will have more outfits with it once the warm weather arrives. So many little things to look forward!

A first hello and Happy New Year to you and yours! I am not good with resolutions so I’m not making a list anymore, but there is one thing I keep constant, year after year: live/ dress colorfully. And just to exemplify this, here is the recap of MY 2022 outfits.

With this first post I would like to thank you for the love and your constant support for Bittersweet Colours & Bittersweet Collars, and wish you a Happy & New Colorful Year!

From that time when the trees still had leaves and everything was covered in yellow in our backyard. For such a scenery I picked to wear fuchsia! And not just one dress but two. This combination of layering dresses you have seen on my blog before, Here. Fall is the perfect season to play with thin layers, and I love this mix of two dresses. The dress underneath is vintage and has beautiful colors from purple to mustard and on top of it I layered a shirt dress that looks more like a coat in this case. The gloves complete the autumnal look and I love the bold color that matches the entire color palette of this ensemble.

Voila!

Some unposted photos from early summer days in the wild flowers together with Caroline. Can’t believe the summer is almost over and we have to say goodbye to all the bright beautiful blooms. We are left with wonderful memories and photos that will remind us all these moments.

A sunset stroll on the River Street and surroundings makes the second post from Savannah. We did a lot of walking while in Savannah and we could have done even more because this city has a lot to offer. I was wearing an easy pairing (shirt & trousers) in a bright color mix and again a head scarf (a DIY project, I have a bunch of them). As for shoes and bags these are my must-have/ wear pieces all summer long: thong sandals & basket bags. Voila!

One last look from Palm Beach and the next destination is Savannah, GA.This look in Palm Beach showcases some happy colors on both Caroline and I. The yellow linen jumpsuit seemed appropriate to wear in this golden city. I've always loved the bright colors against the turquoise water. Summer colors, summer mood, sunshine, sand and a few more memories to add to our journey.

The month of May is already gone, but I still have moments captured from those floral, sunny days. We were so delighted to see the tulips in full bloom and to smell the lilac, their fragrance will always transport me to my childhood. I wish these flowers will last more than a few days...

We loved to sped our mornings in the garden this spring, and we look forward to spend even more this summer, in a complete formula, as Noah is out of school.
Caroline enjoyed her time here especially surrounded by so many flowers and on that day she was wearing one of my personal favorite dresses, the last one from our collaboration with Charlotte sy Dimby. I loved the fabric from the start and also the print on this subtle yellow color. You can never have to many floral dresses, right?
A special thank you to Charlotte for trusting us with this special limited edition collection, still a few pieces available Here.

As fall colors unfolded everywhere, in the past week we stood mostly at home and enjoyed all the autumnal foliage right in our backyard. I have quite a few posts coming up from our garden and this particular post today is from one afternoon right before Noah came from school. Wrapped up in my favorite cashmere poncho along with a matching bandanna scarf, both from Santicler , we stood there and admired the sun going down while Noah and Caroline played with their scooters…

I hope you all have a lovely rest of the weekend!

The Fall colors have started to show up in Pennsylvania about 2 weeks ago and and we didn’t want to miss these first signs. I love all the phases of color transformation, especially the vibrant yellow-orange foliage but for that we still have to wait a little bit longer. For now the green shades are starting to fade and blend with the earthy tones that are predominantly seen everywhere. With these new beginnings, a new series of photoshoots for my Bittersweet Collars line is coming and here today is the first one wearing the Catherine collar-May Manor in Green( currently sold out in this color). I wanted to show you one element of surprise, the fact that it can be worn in two different ways.

Beside the official/ standard way of wearing it, you can see I am also wearing it backwards (as I did with many garments in the past). So, this is an unofficial way of wearing these collars and you can definitely do that if you are looking in achieving a more minimal collar effect in the front. They are not totally closed in the back and have that A shape closure. I've planed all these details from the beginning because I wanted to create versatility with these accessories and to be able to integrate them into many different outfits, in different ways. I will continue doing these kind of styling and show you ways to wear it during this fall season.

I will start this post by saying that something new is coming! It's my first time talking about this project here on the blog, and I don’t know exactly where to start. The more I talk or type about it, the more I realize it’s happening and it’s not anymore just a dream in my head.

So, at the end of 2018, beginning of 2019 I was “ready” (or so I thought) to start my first ever personal project. Nothing in big proportions, but still for me it was a big deal… clearly I was not ready the way I though, more likely I knew what I wanted to create but not ready to pursue it … and I put it on hold for a while. When the pandemic started in March 2020 and most of us summed up many things on personal and professional life, I realized that Now is the time! It’s now or never!  Of course it was the worst time to start a business even a small one with everything on hold, lockdowns globally, breakdowns on many levels and two small kids at home.

Somehow I decided not to wait anymore. So this time I really started and I will say it, I had many moments of “maybe now is not a good time” but I also recognized that time doesn’t wait to be good, it just is or it isn't, and I had to try to make it right for me…

At first I didn’t tell many people, just the ones that I had to work with to make it happen and now I am ready (after another year and a half) to tell you that Bittersweet Collars (@bittersweetcollars), my ultimate dream handmade capsule collection is coming very soon. The shop is launching this week on Saturday October 9th at 11am est.

Feminine floral prints collars in Liberty London Tana Lawn 100% cotton are for me the fashion accessories that I dreamt of for quite some time now! It’s all in the details because I wanted something very detailed and somehow “precious”. I didn’t want to create just another garment, but more like a versatile wearable piece of art that completes a simple outfit.

Soon, I will tell you more about the concept, fabric, colors and styles but for now I leave you with this look, a prototype collar that I shot last Spring (when I initially thought I will lunch the line). The shop is launching this week on Saturday October 9th at 11am est.

I hope you like it and I look forward to share more details starting with next week!
