Another look from last year wearing again a Bittersweet Collars The Elizabeth - Jannah in Blue this time paired with jeans! Yes, jeans tucked in a pair of leather boots and along with a thin turtleneck sweater can be feminine and classic in the same time, a sort of effortless elegance. The collar (styled in two different ways) is adding an extra delicate layer and it’s the perfect match for this blue and white look.

This look is about a mix of opposites, that it is easy and elegant as well luxurious and laid back. In other words ladylike and practical, something that I like to mix these days …

As always the whole crew was there, making memories on the go as we travel together for every single photoshoot.

The entire crew is wearing stripes and here is the second lighthouse we visited in Massachusetts. This one is not new to us (see this post Here from 4 years ago) but it is the first time we went there in this formula of four.  Extra fun this time!
I am always talking about how special and fun is everywhere we go but also know that is not always easy. Some days are better than others and during  vacation time it's the “on the go” element that keeps (in my case) the kids busy and always entertained. I learn to see and appreciate the best part of each moment/day/year so this is what I mostly like to share with you. Voila!

My second post from Massachusetts (doesn’t follow the order of the days that we stayed there) is from Winter Island's lighthouse or Fort Pickering, a 17th - century historic fort site in Salem Massachusetts. It is actually the second lighthouse that we visited on this trip and for the second time on this trip I opted to wear navy -white (you will see soon the other one) but what’s better than a nautical mix by the water, right? Places like these are great for many reasons, but besides the wonderful scenery/ views that this lighthouse has to offer, it is also easy for kids to climb and it made an instant playground for the time we stayed there. Noah and Caroline are very easy adaptable with any location we visit and they always find something to do. Not to mention if there is water and stones, nothing else is needed. Another lesson that kids give us: you don’t need much to be happy and they really live in the moment…

When I think beach/ sea outfits the first thing that comes to my mind is STRIPES. Any detail in stripes will be perfect for an outfit on the beach. This year I matched with my whole crew and all of us has wore stripes. I personally didn’t get the chance to undress this outfit because a very strong summer rain that made us retrieve to the car. Once we reached the car the rain stopped and we decided to give it another try and all of us, still wet, went back on the beach for a couple of hours until the rain came back… these photos were taken before rain, no- rain,  rain again but overall we had a fun day!

I can easily call this last snow storm “epic”. A great amount of snow accumulation left us doing nothing other than either stay inside looking through our window or, once the snow stopped, go outside and all just be children and play in the backyard. An innocent snowball fight turned into one of the most fun activities. I remember experiencing something similar in high school or so... At the end it was just between me and Bogdan throwing lots of snowballs at each other and I am pretty sure I won ;) The kids were cheering us in the background so they were participating in their own way. Also, Bogdan built a snowman and then it was Noah and Caroline's turn for a snowball fight.

Days like these, totally unplanned, are surprisingly the best and I’m glad we decided to beat the cold temperatures for a few hours.

No, it's not fall all over again, I simply have more looks to show you from last year.
This is the first look we took by the lake, or better said, half of the photos in the lake! I swapped my leather boots with trusty Hunters and I was ready for some muddy moments that I hoped to encounter when I left home. I will always have a soft spot for these kind of photos in the nature. It’s part an artistic approach and part fashion, when fashion meets art but with a higher percentage of artistic flare.

Our backyard is slowly starting  to change colors and I can’t wait for that! It looks truly beautiful when all the trees are painted in yellow & orange colors. It’s also official boots weather so I took my newly launched Sarah Flint cognac boots for a walk in the garden! Beautifully crafted and like all Sarah Flint shoes - so very comfortable, this pair works great with dresses, as well as it does with pants. Today  I have them paired with a forever favorite color combination: White - Camel in an early fall ensemble! Voila! A coupon code is still available for first time clients of SF shoes.  With so much time spending at home these days and for sure more to come, I decided to start a new series of “tea time in the garden”. Today I have for you the first one, a blue and white themed tea time with my favorite little lady! We both put on our color coordinated dresses. As many of you are rethinking the home and outdoor activities, having a tea party is one great idea and today I’m sharing some tips for hosting a garden tea party, including what I like to use and wear for such an occasion.

1. Think favorite flavors (tea & sweets), I prefer wild fruits mix tea flavors, fresh fruits and a piece of cake.

I've received  a lot of questions on Instagram about this cake. Well, it's easier to make than you can imagine. We chose a plain lemon cake base (you can choose your  favorite flavor) and the top is painted fondant using edible colors (direct links under the CAKE DECORATION on top of the post). Because I chose a blue and white theme for this garden tea party, I decided to paint the cake in the same color scheme. It is very easy to make and you can use your creativity in decorating it in any color and any form you want. The kids loved the idea and wanted to participate in the making of the cake as well (it was a messy participation but they definitely had fun)...

2.Use your finest vintage china (new or old). Don’t be afraid to use your favorite sets (mixing and matching is always welcomed) because most definitely they are the central point of the table and way not, every day in your life is worth celebrating!

3. Bring some flowers (from your garden or market), I prefer roses in general but wild flowers are a delight as well when available to pick from the garden.

4. Tablecloth or not? You can do either way, I will definitely try both ways. When I choose to use a tablecloth, I like to pick a floral cotton one.

5. What to wear? The most common answer is probably “whatever you feel comfortable in” and as much as I love a white shirt & jeans, I will not be the one to wear them for a garden party just for the simple fact, I -love -dresses -too -much! If you are like me, pick stripes, gingham, floral prints or even a plain color. As for the shoes, YES, we really need to go with the most comfortable pair and today I opted for these Sarah Flint nude sandals that can be worn perfectly on the street and in the garden where I can play/ run after the kids as well and that is definitely a great bonus! If you  don't want to compromise your style, Sarah Flint is your "go to" shoe brand.

I hope these tips help a little and all that remains is to enjoy your next tea party. I absolutely love garden tea parties and plan to have many more this Summer and in the Fall.

P.S. You can still use this promo code: SARAHFLINT- VERA on Sarah Flint website to save $50 on your next purchase!

Black and White is not my forte color combination, but from time to time I like experimenting with non bold hues. Today’s look is a mix of a white top (because of it, I’m wearing b&w) with a pair of white pants and black boots. This shirt is my ideal design when I want to wear something romantic in something different than a dress. As you may see this location is not in our backyard but a friend's backyard, so I love to try a different scenery from time to time (boots were necessary as there was water, plenty of it).
